As I write this my eyelids are getting heavier and heavier and my head is pounding. Yesterday I went with Krystal and her friend Brendan to 'club silencio' which was by far the funnest thing I've done here. The idea is that there's three djs playing simultaneously but the music doesn't play through speakers but instead each person in the club wears a pair of headphones. You can choose between the three stations and switch whenever you like. I thought it would be really weird standing in a room full of people dancing to different songs in complete silence, but it was amazing. The music was really good and there were people there from all over, Brazil, Ireland, England, Mexico, Argentina and Italy. I got into the situation knowing I had a test and a presentation today for class but for $R15, you can't have a better night. We didn't get home until 5am and I passed out for 2 hours before getting up at 6:45 to head to school to study. I dominated my presentation and test and am enjoying the strange satisfaction of being hungover.
I finally locked down a capoeira place and I'm hoping to go soon with this guy from Finland. Right now I'm going to eat as much beans and rice as I can in the dining hall before going home to sleep forever.
